Sarah and Katherine Schirato are identical twins born in San Diego, California and raised in Northern New Mexico. They both attended school at Arizona State University, then at the University of New Mexico pursuing degrees in the arts. Post-graduation, the sisters have incorporated their art pursuit in the form of Schirato Designs, LLC. Schiromad Art is the name Sarah sells her artwork under, as well as small business consulting, freelance design, and online sales.

Statement
We aim to unsettle.
Through the use of texture and a diverse range of processes with the same media, we attempt to tap into the murky, unexplored parts of our psyche, and, ultimately, that of our audience as well. An intuitive approach is integral to our collaborative process, allowing us to examine the connection between the mind and body, something often taken for granted in daily life, as well as the artistic process. Our work forces us and the audience to explore feelings and ideas that are simultaneously integral to ourselves, and difficult for us to reach.
